What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid (chemical compound) of the hemp plant. Our products come from 100% federally legal industrial hemp production.
Many people confuse hemp with marijuana. Although the two plants share the same genus (Cannabis) they are used differently.
- Marijuana usually has high amounts of THC, the psychoactive part of the plant that people use both recreationally and medicinally.
- Hemp contains only trace amounts of THC and can be purified to contain no THC at all. The topical products we make will not give you any psychoactive effects because they contain non-detect levels of THC and are applied topically.
- Our Hemp CBD Tincture contains both Full Spectrum Distillate and CBD Isolate and may give you a calm and relaxed feeling as well as improve the quality of your sleep.* This product tests at below the “Limit of Quantitation (LOQ)” . The LOQ is .3% of THC or less. Thus, our CBD Tincture may contain micro amounts of THC, below the Federal allowed limit of .3% or less.
Hemp contains many beneficial cannabinoids, including CBD and has also been cultivated for biofuels, fiber and even food products.
Increasingly, the hemp plant is being studied and found to have positive benefits for pain relief, both chronic and acute, for such conditions as arthritis, chronic inflammation and soreness.* In addition, CBD is being studied as a powerful anti-inflammatory and may have healing and therapeutic effects on the skin.*
Many people have used CBD salves to treat skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. The benefit of our products is not only the presence of a highly concentrated form of hemp CBD, but in the proprietary blend of calming essential oils and skin friendly ingredients we use. We infuse our base oils for our products with dried calendula and chamomile flowers for a minimum of three weeks, adding back into our products soothing herbs as well as terpenes.
How does CBD work?
Skin cells in the body have receptors that cannabidiol (CBD) can act on (the endocannabinoid system (ECS) which is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors in the human body). This system works to regulate pain, immune function and sleep among other things. These receptors are found all over the body and can be utilized by apply CBD in a topical form to block pain, reduce inflammation and promote a feeling of calmness and well being.*
CBD can reduce the feeling of pain by directing the nerves to reduce their firing. This may result in a feeling of relief of pain.* Because CBD offers anti-inflammatory effects, it may also help with skin inflammation, irritations, itching, minor abrasions and other skin conditions.*
The same action may apply when you take CBD orally, such as in a tincture formula. CBD Tincture may also promote a feeling of anti-anxiety and help you to sleep.*
CBD is soluble in fats and oil based products, which means they can be used very effectively in salves and balms, which is why we use all natural oils to deliver the hemp oil to your skin.
When applied topically, the CBDs penetrate the outer layer of the skin. When included in a massage, CBD’s interaction with your endocannabinoid system can induce a number of beneficial effects.*
You can increase the effect and rapidity of the relief by applying a heating pad to the area, taking a hot shower or bath or soaking the area to be treated in warm water prior to applying the topical.
What can I use your hemp salve and other products for?
We have found our highly-concentrated hemp salves and massage oils to be especially useful for arthritis pain, chronic inflammatory pain, pain, muscle soreness, dry skin, irritated skin, eczema and other chronic skin conditions*. We offer many different Hemp CBD topical products to choose from. All of our topical products are made with CBD Isolate (over 99% pure CBD, which is odorless and colorless). We use CBD Isolate because we can accurately dose our products with the amount of milligrams per oz of product and because CBD Isolate tests non-detect for THC.
Milligrams Matter! (TM) We have found through our own testing that higher amounts of CBD per oz of product yields better relief and will ease your aches and pains for a longer period of time. We independently lab test our products to make sure we are adding the appropriate amount of CBD so that you can be sure you are receiving the highest quality Hemp CBD products from our company. We manufacture all of our products in Boulder, Colorado and do not take other companies products and put our own label on them. Lab tests can be found under the product description of each product.
Will I get high from using your products or fail a drug test?
No, our Hemp CBD topical products contain non-detectable amounts of THC and will not give you any psychoactive effect. You will not fail a drug test when using our topical products since they contain non-detect levels of THC. In addition to containing no THC, our products are applied topically and offer no psychoactive properties.
If you are using our Hemp CBD Tincture, you may be exposed to micro amounts of THC (below the Federal Limit of Quantitation of THC which is .3% or less) because that product is made with both CBD Isolate and with CBD Full Spectrum Oil, which may contain .3% THC or less. Although very unlikely, it could be possible to be be exposed to a micro amount of THC (not enough to give you a “high” feeling) but potentially enough to cause a positive THC drug test. We recommend if your job depends on negative drug testing for THC that you do not ingest our CBD Tincture or anyone else’s CBD tincture, just to be safe.
Is your salve from hemp legal to ship in the US?
Yes, the hemp isolate we use is derived from legal industrial hemp production. The federal government has issued guidelines in the Federal Register that allows personal care products from hemp to be marketed and sold in the United States.
Even Walmart now carries hemp based products for personal care such as the Pro Health Hemp line. When you walk into Walmart and see a shampoo with a cannabis leaf on it, you can appreciate that hemp and its benefits are going mainstream!
