What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring cannabinoid (chemical compound) of the hemp plant. Our products come from 100% federally legal industrial hemp production.
Many people confuse hemp with marijuana. Although the two plants share the same genus (Cannabis) they are used differently.
- Marijuana usually has high amounts of THC, the psychoactive part of the plant that people use both recreationally and medicinally.
- Hemp contains only trace amounts of THC and can be purified to contain no THC at all. The products we use will not give you any psychoactive effects because they contain zero THC and are applied topically.
Hemp is largely misunderstood – hemp contains many beneficial cannabinoids, including CBD and has also been cultivated for biofuels, fiber and even food products.
Increasingly, the hemp plant is being studied and found to have positive benefits for pain relief, both chronic and acute, for such conditions as arthritis, chronic inflammation and soreness. In addition, CBD is an anti-inflammatory and may have healing and therapeutic effects on the skin.
Many people have used CBD salves to treat skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. The benefit of our salve is not only the presence of a highly concentrated form of hemp oil, but in the proprietary blend of calming essential oils and skin friendly ingredients we use.
We have two formulas of salve – one mainly for pain relief and one for skin irritation. Each contain purified hemp oil and have been formulated to provide our customers with exceptional remedies.
How does CBD work?
Skin cells in the body have receptors that cannabidiol (CBD) can act on (the endocannabinoid system (ECS) which is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors in the human body). CBD can reduce the feeling of pain by directing the nerves to reduce their firing. (To be scientific about it, CBD is a cannabinoid that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain.) This can result in a relief of pain.
CBD is soluble in fats and oil based products, which means they can be used very effectively in salves and balms, which is why we use all natural oils to deliver the hemp oil to your skin.
When applied topically, the CBDs penetrate the outer layer of the skin. There are many sources of information on the web about the potential healing benefits of hemp based cannabinoids.
You can increase the effect and rapidity of the relief by applying a heating pad to the area, taking a hot shower or bath or soaking the area to be treated in warm water prior to applying the topical.

We offer two types of salves – one formulated for skin and one for relief. Both offer benefits, choose the one that fits best for what ails you.
Will I get high from using your products or fail a drug test?
No, our extra strength salve does not contain THC and will not give you any psychoactive effect. You will not fail a drug test since it contains no THC. In addition to containing no THC, our products are applied topically and offer no psychoactive properties.
Is your salve from hemp legal to ship in the US?
Yes, the hemp isolate we use is derived from legal industrial hemp production, specifically from hemp plants bred to have high amounts of healing properties. The federal government has issued guidelines in the Federal Register that allows personal care products from hemp oil to be marketed and sold in the United States.
Even Walmart now carries hemp based products for personal care such as the Pro Health Hemp line. When you walk into Walmart and see a shampoo with a cannabis leaf on it, you can appreciate that hemp and its benefits are going mainstream!
